Dr. Asief Alli is a distinguished Water and Sanitation sector professional with 38 years of global experience. His extensive career spans numerous transdisciplinary projects in South Africa and internationally. Dr. Alli’s expertise centers on transboundary water governance, fostering international partnerships, spearheading WASH-related innovation, and developing future professionals for the sector.

Currently, Dr. Alli serves as a Programme Manager at Rand Water. He is the project manager of the AWSISA Global South Water and Sanitation Dialogue for the Association of Water and Sanitation Institutions in South Africa (AWSISA), where he is meticulously managing the upcoming Dialogue from November 9-12, 2025. Holding a PhD from the University of the Free State, South Africa, Dr. Alli brings profound academic and practical understanding to his roles.

His interests extend to trans-disciplinary approaches in South African water governance, innovative human resource development, and conceptualizing future utilities.
