José Cobos Romero is Head of Partnerships and Innovation at Data Friendly Space (DFS), where he builds collaborations to bring purpose-built AI and data solutions into humanitarian practice. With more than a decade of experience in humanitarian analysis, he has contributed to crisis responses including the Türkiye–Syria earthquake, Morocco earthquake, and Libya floods.
At DFS, José helps lead the development of GANNET (Guided Assistance and Navigation for Needs and Emergency Tasks), a suite of AI tools that turns complex crisis data into actionable insights. He holds a NOHA Master’s in International Humanitarian Action from the University of Deusto and a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Granada, with research on violence against social leaders in Colombia.
